There are four basic soap making methods:
- Melt and Pour soap making -melt pre-made blocks of natural and organic soap base
- Cold Process soap making- making soap from scratch with oils and lye
- Hot Process soap making - a variation of cold process where the soap is actually cooked
- Rebatching – grinding or shredding bars of soap, and re-blending them
Melt and Pour process
Melt and Pour process uses pre-made blocks of natural and organic soap base. The great thing about using the melt and pour soap base is, there is always plan B if plan A does not work out well. If you mess up, you can melt down the bar of soap, grate it and use as laundry soap. It can be expensive laundry soap if you plan of selling I,t but at least, it’s not wasted because you are not throwing it all away.
Our informational DVD uses the Melt and Pour Process. This method is by far the safest, fastest, simplest, and we believe the more creative of the two methods; there is no caustic residue or lyewhich can cause severe burning during preparationas found in the Cold Process method.
